Most of the stages in World of Light and Dark adventure mode are very similar to the stages found in the base game in terms of layout and gimmicks. Astral Stair is a new stage that is available in World of Light and Dark adventure mode and can be quite challenging to navigate without proper guidance. In this article, we will provide important points for clearing this tricky stage.
Vampire Survivors Astral Stair Guide in World of Light and Dark AdventureAstral Stair is the fifth stage of this adventure. When you first explore this map, you can only see the actual location of the relics and items but not the stage's layout even if you have the Milky Way map unlocked from the base game. This is because Astral Stair has its own map and you need to get it before you can see the layout of the entire map.
The stage is separated into several rooms and you can reach these rooms by going through "portal doors". These doors look like spades and blend well in the background so it's easy to miss them if you don't know what you're looking for.
I made a map that you can use to learn where the portal doors are located and where they are connected to. Thankfully, these connected doors are not all over the place so taking the portal door connects to the rooms leading to the east. The portal doors on the north and south are connected so you can use them as shortcuts if you need to.
The map is located in the middle-eastern side of the map. Thankfully, the portal leading there is just a short distance away from the starting point. If you have the Glass Vizard relic from the base game (enables the merchant to spawn in all stages), then you can use him as some sort of marker.
After entering the portal, you'll find one of the finger relics in the map. When picked up, this temporarily maxes out your weapon levels and fills the room with enemies, allowing you to slaughter them quickly and gain a ton of experience gems.
In the last room containing the map and Yatta Cavallo's coffin, you'll have to fend off never-ending waves of floating chairs. The coffin itself is protected by four black reapers so prioritize picking up the map first then try taking out the reapers. If you can't interact with Yatta Cavallo's coffin even after defeating the black reapers guarding it, you may want to leave the area and collect the other relics first before going back again. Opening Cavallo's coffin is a progress challenge (achievement).
Another major objective that you need to do while on this stage is evolving and uniting Phiera Der Tuphello and Eight the Sparrow weapons to unlock Cappella Magna (stage 6). Pugnala starts off with both of these weapons but you're still required to pick them up in Astral Stair in order to complete each of their respective progress challenges. You can refer to the map above to learn where the portals connect to the rooms with these weapons. On top of maxing out these weapons, you also need to obtain a Tiragisu to complete the union/evolution.
For the other relics in this stage, Chaos Rosalia allows Yatta Cavallo to morph once he reaches LV80 while the Trisection enables random events to trigger in all stages. Thankfully, these random events can be toggled on or off via a checkbox during the stage selection screen.
